Cherished Moments

Today, I (Katie) had a flash forward of 13 years. As I was cheerfully playing in a pile of leaves with James, I watched as two 14-year-old boys walked into the woods holding their BB guns. I saw James in those boys and realized he won't be content playing with his mom and a pile of leaves forever. It reminded me to stop and cherish the simple but sweet moments I have with him. Yes, he will get older and more independent. He will, eventually, choose other playmates over his mom. I'm supposed to encourage him to spread his wings, right? Well, for now I am going to enjoy my son and our pile of leaves.

His favorite thing to do right now is push his wagon back and forth across the yard.

This is the face he makes when the wagon gets stuck.

Whenever a car drives by, James stops to give a friendly wave.
Other things I cherish about my sweet boy:
His smile that lights up an entire room
The way he pats his head when we ask him, "Where's James?"
His hugs and sloberry open-mouthed kisses
The way he tucks his arms under his belly when we hold him
His love for music
His infatuation with swings
His excitement when trying new things
The way he loves his daddy
I AM BLESSED!

Music Class

We have music class every Thursday through Music Together of Charlotte. James absolutely loves it! When I pulled into the parking lot last week, he saw the building and began clapping and smiling. His favorite part is playing with the instruments and interacting with the other kids.

The First Hair Cut!

Driving the police car at Doolittles!
He did not enjoy the clippers!

Giving him a lollipop helped a little bit.

The shaggy hair is all gone.

Such a handsome boy!

Sorry to our followers (mainly BeBe, Grandparents in MO, Uncle Marko and Aunt Donna Lou) who have been patiently waiting for them. What a joy it was to celebrate one wonderful year of life for our little man. He is a blessing and he enjoyed his Tarheel party. Thanks to all of you who helped to make it so special!
